If I already use onsite environmental testing, why do I need badges?
OSHA doesn't specify what type of monitoring a facility should do, but we recommend using badges as a supplement to onsite testing. It allows you to record work environment exposure as well as personal employee exposure in the most cost effective manner. Not to mention the inobtrusiveness of badge monitoring over onsite testing.
Do badges work as well as onsite?
OSHA requires all testing applications to meet a +/- 25% minimum accuracy requirement with a 95% confidence level. All of Sensors badges surpass those requirements. Nitrous is +/- 12.49%, Halogenated +/- 8.4% and Glutaraldehyde is +/- 13.3%.
How many badges do I need to order?
Many badge companies sell 4 badges to a box. Sensors sells six, but our per badge price is often lower. Sensors offers a standing order program in which badges will be shipped to you as you need them. But if you prefer all your badges at once Sensors badges have a one-year shelf life (except for Glutaraldehyde).

How long do I have to wait for my results?
Sensors ships all products the day the order is placed and results are mailed out to the customer within 10 days of when they are received. We also provide rush analysis if needed.
What is used to test these badges?
All of Sensors analysis methodologies are OSHA and NIOSH approved Liquid and Gas Chromotographic sampling.
Do I receive a comprehensive analytical report?

Can Sensors maintain my records for me?
Sensors provides independent and confidential documentation for 30 years that only your facility may access. We also can provide yearly summaries of all badge results.
Do I have to expose all of my badges at once?
Each badge has its own self-addressed envelope so each badge should be returned immediately after exposure.
I monitored a year ago and the levels were fine, how do I know if I should remonitor?
Remonitoring is required if you receive notification of high results, your employees work practices change, or the ventilation is somehow deficient or is changed. All are required reasons to remonitor and Sensors does provide you with immediate notification of all high results.
Are these chemicals really that bad for you?
All regulated chemicals have been deemed potentially harmful to your health by OSHA. Refer to Sensors chemical data reference guide for more information about a specific chemical.
My vaporizers have been checked onsite. Do I still need to monitor?
Did your onsite company just calibrate the machine or did they actually test the work environment exposure, not to mention the personal employees exposure.
I use protective clothing, have a fume hood and great Ventilation. Do I still need to monitor?
No matter how well you believe you or your employees are protected, OSHA requires that you still must detail work environment exposure. The General Duty Clause.
Why would I need personal employee exposure levels when I already know my work environment exposure levels are fine?
Liability. If years from now an employee has health problems, you can prove that your facility tested each employee and their levels were good; or that you indeed had problems and did something to rectify the situation.
Are you even required to monitor for Glutaraldehyde?
The General Duty Clause. Most state OSHA's have a threshold limit value ceiling and if they do not, ACGIH recommends a ceiling of 0.05ppm.
